Welcome

Welcome to Tantara's Shiloh Shepherds. We make every effort to produce the best Shiloh Shepherds in temperament, health, and structure. We strive to not only produce the best puppies possible, but also to match each puppy with the best possible home. We offer a life-long commitment to both you and your new Shiloh Shepherd with support in all areas of raising your puppy to be the best adult dog it can possibly be.

Here at Tantara Kennels , our Shiloh Shepherds live inside our home as members of our family. We do not keep our dogs, nor any litters, in a separate kennel facility or as outside dogs. Our dogs have completed either obedience classes, passed their Canine Good Citizenship test (CGC), temperament test, or all of the previous. All of our dogs must have their hips certified, (passing and free of dysplasia) in order to be used in our breeding program. We also do additional health testing such as cardiac certification and complete thyroid panels before any dogs are bred. We only produce one or two litters per year. Our goal is quality, not quantity.

**PUPPIES AVAILABLE OCCASIONALLY TO APPROVED HOMES ONLY**

Additionally I am also a Professional Handler for conformation shows. I also offer obedience and behavior training on a private basis.

Shiloh Shepherds

Do you remember the large Shepherds of old? Do you remember a dog that seemed to know what you were thinking? A dog that seemed to understand your every word, thought, and feeling? A dog that seemed to be almost humanlike in intelligence and personality?

This describes only part of the Shiloh Shepherd. The Shiloh Shepherd is the total dog. They are large, loyal, loving and possess extreme intelligence. They make wonderful family companions and live their lives trying to please their people. They excel at obedience, love agility, are well suited for therapy work, have been used in search and rescue, and do well in the conformation/show ring.

Shiloh Shepherds can be either smooth or plush coated, with a palette of coat colors including black, tan, red, gold, white and varying shades of sable. They are more square in build with a slight slope to the top line. Even though they are large in size, they must possess the smooth flowing gait, strength, and stamina that are so important to the Shilohs overall working ability.

You can see the Shiloh Shepherd at conformation shows sponsored by several different show organizations such as the American Rare Breed Association (ARBA), the Federation of Rare Breeds (FORB), The International All Breed Canine Association (IABCA), and Rarities. Some American Kennel Club (AKC) and United Kennel Club (UKC) events may sometimes invite the rare breeds.
